![]() Even if you can’t speak Korean, it’ll be fine! Many foreign trainees and idols start without any knowledge in Korean. Since you are quite young, its likely that you’ll be sent to a Korean language school. It’s likely that you’ll be sent to a school that teaches you in English, and you may have Korean language classes at that school. If I’ve forgotten anything, please feel free to leave it down in the comments! I’ve also heard that they regularly check your phone to make sure that you aren’t dating anyone. For most companies, the trainees have to hand in their phones to the company. Some companies may ask you to learn an instrument so that you have a better understanding of music. Some companies have the trainees meditate, though I’m not sure what companies do this. They also go to hair salons and sometimes nail salons. Usually once a week, the trainees go see a dermatologist. Whether your company pays for the trips is dependent on your company. If your family does not live in Korea, than you are allowed to see them once every year. Sometimes they use these evaluations to check your weight, however I believe its more common to check it daily or weekly. Though the type of evaluations depend on the company. The trainees prepare a song (singing or rapping), a solo dance and a group dance. Weekly or monthly evaluations: These are the days when the trainee’s mentors and sometimes the CEO watch the performances of the trainees. Trainees may sleep the day away or utilise their time to continue practicing or doing their school work. Most companies will have one day of a week, usually Sundays, for the trainees to rest. However, its not uncommon for trainees to continue practicing and not get any sleep. However they expect you to be practicing and doing homework.ġ2am-2am: Within this time period, most trainees will go to bed. Trainees do not get to eat take-away food.Ĩ:30pm onwards: This is the trainee’s ‘free-time’. This will be provided by the company, and it’ll most likely be very healthy or little food. These are your vocal, rapping and dance classes. ![]() Usually these classes occur only once a week, so you’ll have different classes each day, However, some trainees will be in the gym, or practicing as well.ġ0am-8pm: Practice. These would be like language classes, manners and etiquette, acting and modelling. For most trainees, dance classes are longer and have more importance placed on them. You’ll receive vocal classes, rap classes and dance. Depending on what your strengths and weaknesses are, your classes will be different. It will also be likely that you will also have vocal and dance classes in the school that you go to.Ĥpm-8pm: Training in the company. Trainees usually take public transport, but their manager does sometimes drop them off.Ĩam-3pm: Attending school. ![]() Your company will have you attending either an arts school or an international school.ħ:30am-8am: Travelling to school. Studentsħam-7:30am: Get ready for school. This is super important so that trainees can strengthen themselves and improve their stamina. This is just a general schedule that I’ve compiled from a lot of researching! The daily schedule of a trainee is usually very much the same as other companies and really just consist of training and going to school.ĥam: Wakeup and get yourself ready for the dayĥ:30-6am: Go for a run or some exercising. What does a day in the life of a kpop trainee look like?
